i think from your questions that you are a north indian and want to be safe . as per my advice you can stay at maheshwari dharmshala or ramdev bhavan very near to central railway station there you will not have language and food problem also for further information if you want you can contact my e.mail

There are lots of hotels which are cheap and good too near the railway station which are within 5mins of walk after you come out of station on too the main road.. its called poonamallee high road.

There are many good hotels nearby Central and Egmore. Walk in directly and stay there. In case, if your stay is short you can think of staying at the Dormitory in the Station itself. Which is very cheap.

There are many. Poonamalle high Road is little far off. Adjacent to Station in Walltax Road, there are hundreds of Lodges and they are very cheap also You can stay there. For transit passengers and who are looking some cheap accommodation very near to Central Station this is the best option. Please try.
